Ordering from your conservation district

Common questions. Districts may paste this page into a mailer or read it over the phone.

1. When does ordering close?

The store shows an Ordering open badge under the sale name. If the district set a closing date, it is printed right beside the badge (for example, "Ordering ends October 10."). If you don't see a date, the district hasn't set one yet. Call them.

2. How do I order?

Each plant card has a quantity box and an Add to cart button: type how many, press the button. When you're done, press Check out: your name, email, phone (optional), and which pickup time you'll come to. Then Place order.

3. Do I pay a fee? How do I pay?

No. You pay the price of your plants, and nothing is added for ordering online or for paying by card. If the district charges sales tax, checkout shows it before you place your order.
Your checkout page and your receipt say how this district takes payment. Each district chooses how it takes payment: cash or check when you pick up, a check by mail, or a card online. The store page says which (for example, "Pay when you pick up: cash or check."). If the district takes checks, your confirmation tells you who to make the check out to and what to write on the memo line (your order number).

4. It says "Sold out."

The plant stays on the page so you can see it existed. Press Join waitlist, enter your email and press Notify me. If the district adds more, it can email you. Joining is not an order, and nothing is held for you. Under the sold-out plant, "Similar in stock" lists alternatives. If two people order the last one at once, the second is told it is sold out.

5. Where's my confirmation?

The page after you order says "Your order is confirmed, and a copy was emailed to" the address you gave once the email has gone, and it is your receipt. If the email could not be sent, it says "but a copy could not be emailed to" your address and gives you the order number to write down. Your confirmation email has a link back to it (the receipt says so: "Your confirmation email has a link back to this page."); if you left the email blank, bookmark or print that page. Lost the link? Press Find my order at the bottom of the store page and enter your order number with the email or phone you ordered with. The email comes from orders@seedstand.org. If you reply to it, your reply goes to the district's contact email when the district has set one, and otherwise to SeedStand; to be sure of reaching the district, use the email or phone on your receipt. Bring the order number to pickup.

6. Can I change my order?

Not from the website. There is no "edit order" button once you've placed it. Contact the district (their email and phone are also on your receipt) and tell them your order number and what you'd like. From their side they can substitute another plant, remove an item or cancel the order; they cannot change quantities on it. If you cancel after paying and the district keeps a cancellation fee, your receipt says exactly how much. If you want more plants, the quickest way is a second order.

7. What happens on pickup day?

Tell the volunteer your name, and pay if you haven't. Pickup only. Plants are not shipped. If you don't pick up your order at your pickup time, the district may keep it without a refund (its missed-pickup policy is printed on your confirmation), so if you can't make it, contact the district before the day.

8. What if there's a problem with my order?

Contact the district. Their email and phone are also on your receipt. SeedStand is the software; the district is who you bought from.

Your district's email and phone are on your receipt and at the bottom of its store page.
